Planning Permission is in place for the installation of an all-weather, full-size playing pitch with floodlighting thus allowing sports to be played 12 months of the year in Kenmare. The tender was recently awarded to Kerry-based PST Sports and the development which will include all associated site works and construction will begin shortly.  The build will take three to four months so the club will be playing on the new facility by the end of the year.

This facility will benefit all members of the club and give everyone a place to call home. It will become a hub of activity for the local community. In addition to club members, the facility will be open to other groups such as schools, sports clubs, and community groups.

The world-class facility will enable the Club to grow the financial and human resources that we have available to us. It will contribute to growing our volunteer base, growing our commercial revenues, and maximising stakeholder support. It will lead to improved support for all members of the club and let us offer the best community club we can.

While there is a shortfall in funding, we believe the benefits that the Astro Pitch will deliver to the local community will encourage the community to help raise funds to meet the shortfall.
